This module is used as an on-line interface to documents stored outside of OpenCMS but in local "storage" (e.g. document management systems, distributed file systems, databases ..). Content might be interfaced not only on-line but migh also be stored in "cache" or be processed prior to delivery to end users.

The Access to external Document Management System module contains drivers for on-line access to local file-system on server and to Subversion repository. Other drivers can be added by provided framework.

Documents from external repositories can be searched using fulltext search support in OpenCms.

This module is particullary useful for combining the advantages of OpenCMS for web content managemen with third party document management systems.
