This module displays all the news made available within an OpenCMS web project. News is published as records which are added to the list of news. Each news has its specific data e.g. news title, author, lifetime, abstract, detail etc. Each news belongs to a specific section, which is defined by its author upon its creation or editing. This approach enables powerful categorization of different types of news. Display of news is controlled by an OpenCMS template.

Any OpenCMS document can be marked as a news (a news associated with a document), which means that a news record is automatically created with the data taken directly form the original document.
